Ravindra Pratap Singh (Author) Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh, currently serving as Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Lucknow, India, has also held the position of Chief Engineer in the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Government of India. He is an accomplished leader with over 25 years of experience in public procurement, project management, and the monitoring and implementation of environmental and social safeguards, as well as in urban planning, solid waste management, and wastewater treatment. Dr. Singh is strongly interested in sustainable development, particularly in sustainable construction. He has collaborated with the World Bank on highway projects in India and with JICA on a Japanese government grant-aid project in Varanasi. As an expert and member of the Heritage Conservation Committee on the River Ganga, he contributed to conservation initiatives in Varanasi. Alongside his professional career, Dr. Singh is actively engaged in academics. He has published various research and review papers on environmental management and pollution control and has edited more than ten books with international publishers, including Springer and Wiley. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1989 from Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, followed by a Master's in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering specialisation) from IIT (BHU) between 1991 and 1993, and later completed his Ph.D. at the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.Neha Srivastava (Series Edited By) Neha Srivastava received a PhD in Biotechnology from Department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering, SHIATS, India in 2016 in the area of bioenergy. She works in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, India. She has published more than 28 research articles in peer reviewed journals and has filed 3 patents, 1 technology transfer and edited 7 books. She has many popular social scientific articles in newspapers and has 11 potential deposited microorganisms in her credit. Presently, she is working on bioprocess technology and biofuels production (Microbial screening and enzymes; production and enhancement, biohydrogen production from waste biomass, bioethanol production).
