Dr. De Rosa serves as the AKI Representative for the Research Committee of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and is actively involved in the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, and Intensive Care (SIAARTI), where she is Chair and Past Chair of the National Nutrition, Metabolism, and Renal Therapies Section. Her primary research interests include: Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Extracorporeal Organ Support; Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI); Clinical Nutrition and Muscle Wasting in Critical Illness; Airway Management in Intensive CareThrough her clinical and academic roles, Dr. De Rosa is dedicated to advancing research in renal therapies, metabolic support, and extracorporeal life support, contributing to the improvement of patient care in intensive care settings. Sergio Lassola is a researcher specializing in respiratory care, with a particular focus on the management of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and respiratory support strategies for critically ill patients, including those affected by COVID-19. His research also extends to blood purification techniques in intensive care, aiming to improve outcomes in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) and fluid balance disorders. His key research areas include: Management of ARDS and respiratory failure; Respiratory care in COVID-19 patients; Prone positioning in intensive care; Respiratory system compliance and mechanics; Humidification strategies in mechanical ventilation; Extracorporeal blood purification techniques in critical care; Acute Kidney Injury and Fluid Balance in intensive care.
