"Land of Hypocrisy" is one of the most distinguished novels by the great writer Youssef Al-Sibai, as it is classified as a fantasy work despite its immersion in Egyptian and Arab reality. The novel deals with the topic of social hypocrisy in a satirical literary framework. It depicts moral corruption through lying, deception, and hypocrisy through the story of a man who buys courage and chivalry from a shop that sells moral powder. Through this amazing and sarcastic plot, Al-Sibai reveals the flaw of society and its morals. The novel was turned into a movie starring the artist Fouad Al-Muhandis in 1968, and the artist Mohamed Henedy reproduced it into a television series.
