Laura Petitta is an Associate Professor of Work andOrganizational Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of theSapienza University of Rome, Italy, and Professor of Training and OrganizationDevelopment. She has published in journals including Work & Stress, SafetyScience, Stress & Health, Accident Analysis and Prevention, European Psychologist, the Journal of Business Ethics, the Organization Management Journal, and GroupDynamics.Charmine E. J. Härtel is Professor and Chair of HRM, OD, andOccupational Health Psychology for The University of Queensland Business Schoolin Brisbane, Australia. Her work appears in over 200 publications, including the Academyof Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Leadership Quarterly,Human Relations, and the Journal of Management.Neal M. Ashkanasy is a Professor of Management at the UQBusiness School at the University of Queensland in Australia. His research hasbeen published in leading journals, including the Academy of Management Journal andReview, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Journal of AppliedPsychology.Wilfred J. Zerbe is a Professor of Organizational Behaviour andformer Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Memorial University ofNewfoundland, Canada. Scholars of organizational behavior, management, and other areas of business address the complexity of emotional forces interacting with physiological, cognitive, and contextual factors in shaping organizational behavior at different levels of organizational functioning consistent with the Ashkanasy multi-level model of emotions in organizations. Looking in turn at individual, relational, and contextual dynamics of emotions, they consider such topics as temporal patterns of pleasant and unpleasant affect following uncertain decision-making, the role of implicit leadership theory in employees' perceptions of abusive supervision, the impact of resonance and dissonance on effective physician-patient communication, facilitating positive emotions for greater creativity and innovation, and workplace fear: a phenomenological exploration of the experiences of human service workers.
