Anna Kamieńska (1920–1986) was a Polish poet, essayist, translator, and editor. Her work includes twenty collections of poetry, two volumes of Notebooks, and commentaries on the Bible. Clare Cavanagh, an award-winning translator of Polish literature, is Frances Hooper Professor in the Arts and Humanities and professor of Slavic languages and literatures at Northwestern University. She is the author of Lyric Poetry and Modern Politics: Russia, Poland, and the West, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award. Christian Wiman is professor at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and author of My Bright Abyss: Meditation of a Modern Believer.
