MARIANNE BLOCH is Professor of Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is the co-editor of Educational Partnerships (forthcoming from Palgrave, 2003). She is also the editor of Women and Education in Sub-Saharan Africa and The Ecological Context of Children's Play. - THOMAS POPKEWITZ is Professor of Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
