This unique book provides the student of Roman history with an accessible and detailed introduction to Roman and provincial coinage in the late Republic and early Empire in the context of current historical themes and debates. Clare Rowan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Warwick. She bridges the disciplines of Roman history and numismatics, with recognised research excellence, having won a European Research Council Starting Grant, while her teaching excellence has been recognised through numerous awards, including the Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence and an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Award for Programmes that Enhance Learning (shared).
