“This text argues that feminist theory offers promise to not only address perennial concerns about access, inclusion and equity, but improved corporate performance. This is a valuable text for contemporary scholars of HRD, social movements, human development and economic sociology. Commentators have argued that human resource development is generally a poorly theorised aspect of organisational life. I think this book goes a long way towards remedying such malaise. We need more of this kind of quality heterodox scholarship.” Anthony M. Gould, PhD, Professeur titulaire / Full Professor, Université Laval“The book on Feminism, Diversity, and Human Resource Development is a highly commendable addition to the existing literature on the subject. It includes contemporary perspectives on feminism and diversity, National HRD practices, bodies and HRD and sustainability. Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone interested in understanding the intersection of feminism, diversity, and HRD.” Jawad Syed, PhD, Academic FCIPD, is Professor of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)“In the post-pandemic workplace where DEI (diversity, inclusion, and equity) is considered an essential source of sustainable competitive advantage, this book could not be more timely! Infused with global vision, fearless passion, research-based wisdom, and thought-provoking insights, this book is a must read for policy-makers, scholars, and practitioners who are serious about making the world a better place for women and other marginalized groups.” Jia Wang, Professor of Human Resource Development, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA“Feminist epistemologies make important contributions within the diversity and equity literature, yet we haven’t considered the feminist lens when developing HRD approaches aimed at improving historically marginalized communities. Consistent with multiple UN SDGs, this book offers readers with a critical understanding of how global institutions, NGOs, and MNCs approach corporate responsibility and social justice aims. The strength of the book lies with noted women development scholar Prof Beverly Metcalfe’s critical analyses of development work through a feminist lens.” Eddy Ng, Smith Professor of Equity and Inclusion in Business, Queen’s University, Canada, and Editor-in-Chief of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal
