Professor Tristram Hooley is a researcher and writer focusing on career and career guidance. He is Professor of Career Education at the University of Derby and also holds Professorial titles at the Inland Norway University of Applied Science and Canterbury Christ Church University.  He is Chief Editor of the NICEC journal, a Winston Churchill Fellow and Chair of the Critical Approaches to Career and Career Guidance COST project. He is also on the board of the Career Development Policy Group and the International Centre for Career Development and Public Policy.  Tristram has written numerous books, and many articles and reports.  His work explores the relationship between career, policy and technology and examines how career guidance can support individuals to manage their engagement with work, learning and society. Professor Rie Thomsen is the Scientific Coordinator of the European Doctoral School in Career Guidance and Counselling (ECADOC) at Aarhus University, Denmark. She also holds Professorial positions at the University of Southeastern Norway, the University of Lower Silecia in Poland and the International Centre for Guidance Studies at the University of Derby in England.  Rie’s research revolves around lifelong career guidance practices and policies with a special interest in social justice and the role of communities. Furthermore, she has a strong interest in creating an inspiring environment for interdisciplinary and collaborative research in Career Guidance.   She is the scientific coordinator of the European Doctoral School in career guidance and counselling (ECADOC). She has written numerous books and articles, including Career Guidance in Communities.  In 2013 she was awarded with the National Guidance Award for her research and its usefulness for practice.
