James T. McHugh, Ph.D. is a professor of political science at the University of Akron. He is a fellow and director of academic planning for the university's Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics. He has taught at Roosevelt University in Chicago, American University in Washington, D.C., and the University of Vermont. Dr. McHugh also served in academic administration as a public policy scholar for the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. and as a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in North American Integration at Carleton University. He holds a Ph.D. from Queens University.
