'During the past three decades, the rationale and feasibility of in utero repair of birth defects has been established arising from the clinical frustration in caring for newborn babies with problems that were 'too late to correct'. This book, ably edited by Dr. Olutoyin Olutoye, has succeeded in comprehensively elucidating the maternal and fetal anesthetic considerations within the exciting field of fetal surgery. The authorship of the thirteen chapters is a star-studded array of experts.  Whether you are a dedicated maternal-fetal anesthesiologist or simply an interested 'bystander' curious about fetal intervention, it is fascinating to read the well-written chapters beginning with the Physiology of Pregnancy and ending with Ex Utero Intrapartum Therapy, the latter an appropriate EXIT to this must-have book!'
