"I remain convinced…that America’s colleges and universities will continue to rise to the challenges of today and tomorrow and will provide a pathway to social mobility, an example of a just and fair community, and the seeds of a truly inclusive democracy. All of these will require, above all, sound and wise leadership in our institutions. This volume identifies important leadership lessons that will help achieve these goals and highlights just a few of the leaders who will take us there in the coming years."--From the Foreword by Ted Mitchell, President, American Council on Education
