The Morcom collection provides an excellent conspectus of the ancient Greek coinage issued by the peoples of Italy and further west. This collection of over 900 bronze coins from the western Greek world was formed as a counterbalance to the better known coins in precious metals which have already been widely published. Each piece is a historical document, the dies created by fine engravers. Comprehensively illustrated with 38 pages of plates, this catalogue is a major contribution to the study of Magna Graecia.
