He has contributed to Cornucopia Magazine for many years. The foreword is by the best-selling narrative historian Roger Crowle, author of Constantinople: The Last Great Siege (2005), Empire of the Sea (2008), Accursed Tower: The Fall of Acre and the End of the Crusades (2019) and most recently, Spice: The 16th-Century Contest that Shaped the Modern World (Yale, 2024).
Recensioner i media
‘In 1981, a fractious crew of friends bought four headstrong, libidinous donkeys and made an arduous journey south across Anatolia, from the Sea of Marmara to the Mediterranean … Trillo’s diary is a paean to the warmth of the villagers they met, to friendship and to a land that time forgot. Wryly funny, poetic and honest, it’s enhanced by Simon Nicholas’s art and Stephen Scoffham’s photographs. Slow travel at its best .’ – Saga Magazine
