JULIAN GOODARE is a Reader in Scottish History at the University of Edinburgh. Among his books are The Government of Scotland, 1560-1625 (2004) and (edited) The Scottish Witch-Hunt in Context (2002). He was Director of the online Survey of Scottish Witchcraft. LAUREN MARTIN received her Ph.D. in Anthropology and History with a thesis and several publications on Scottish witchcraft, gender, and early modern social organisation and culture.
