Internationally published picture book author Amelia Tonta lives in Canberra, where she spends most days writing kids' books, staring out the window thinking about kids' books, and occasionally just plain staring out the window. When she's not writing, thinking or staring, Amelia likes to help people while simultaneously playing with slime; an unusual combination that makes her other job doing ultrasounds highly suitable. She also enjoys yoga and snorkelling, although not simultaneously. Lucky is Amelia's latest picture book. Her other picture books (written under the name Amelia McInerney) include Neil the Amazing Sea Cucumber, Jeff Giraffe, Who Fed Zed?, Mary had a Little Lamb - What REALLY Happened, Bad Crab, My Bird Bertie and her CBCA Notable debut, The Book Chook. Amelia is a proud ambassador of the ACT Chief Minister's Reading Challenge.Adam Nickel's illustration style is very much influenced by mid-century-era design and illustration. He has a background in graphic design and animation with a client list that includes The Wall Street Journal, Penguin Random House, GQ and New Scientist. He lives in Brisbane, Australia.

'McInerney is fast becoming one of the queens of humorous rhyming picture books.' The Canberra Times'Being both fun and educational, such jokey homonym word-play as this could easily be set for lively poetry activities at home or school.' Magpies'a darkly comic story which will start a conversation about food intolerances/allergies and the importance of food labelling ... Zany and vivid illustrations have a vintage, almost comic-book feel, and the characters' subtle but funny facial expressions heighten the humorous story.' Booktrust UK
