A history of the West Indians who migrated to Sierra Leone from the Caribbean after the abolition of slavery in 1807.An examination of the trans-oceanic migration of West Indians from the Caribbean to Sierra Leone in the decades following the abolition of slavery in the British colonies in 1807. The West Indians who immigrated to Sierra Leone during this period came to occupy many positions in the colonial government of the colony, and, in time, they were an important [although not always liked] minority.
