Walking with Albert

Walking With Albert is my first compilation of short stories. Most of the stories here were composed over a period of three years.

These stories vary in length from just a few pages to more than twenty pages. The subject matter, and the nature and styles of the stories, vary widely as well.

There is a story about a young man’s unrealised expectation of winning a Fields Medal, and tales of deep rural life, past and present, not all of which are idyllic. There is a story that hints at astrophysics, a story of human meaning found, however fleeting, and a story about a set of toast tongs.

One of the stories celebrates the vigour of youth. Another pictures two very mismatched men who find something in common on a summer morning. Other stories deal with a death on a golf course, and a cat that defies anti-Semitism from the past.

I hope you dip in, and I hope even more that you enjoy what you find.
