Ideas for writing often come over long and protracted periods of time and through a variety of both good and bad experiences. The pen is picked up or the computer is turned on, and once again ideas begin to flow onto the page or screen. The result is a poem, which in essence is a short story about a point of view; a personal experience or life event lived out by self, others or a combination of both.

Come by invitation into the place of waiting in order that you, the reader, may hear the words of time and eternity.

John Gerrard is a retired elementary school teacher who continues to enjoy occasional teaching assignments. He and his wife partner to serve the body of Christ at their local church. John serves as a volunteer in his local community. He also enjoys handyman activities around his home.

John began writing in his teens and was inspired by his great aunt, Anne Sutherland Brooks, a published author of children’s verse. John continues to write regularly and looks forward to short story and book publications in the future.

John lives in Brantford, Ontario, with his wife, Sharon, and his son, Nathan.
