K. Lee Chichester studied art history and biology in Berlin and New York. She has been a research assistant at Humboldt University in Berlin and Ruhr University in Bochum and has curated exhibitions at Kunstmuseum Bern and the Franz Marc Museum in Kochel, among others. She is a junior professor of art history and aesthetic theory at the University of Bremen, working on scientific images and artistic research in the early modern and modern periods, animal images around 1900, the historiography of art history, and the history of scientific exhibitions.
