Alex Metcalfe, Lancaster University and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, primarily researches the medieval Mediterranean. His publications include County and Nobility in Norman Italy (2020) and The Making of Medieval Sardinia (2021).Maurizio Virdis is Emeritus Professor of Romance Philology and Sardinian Linguistics at the University of Cagliari.
