Types of Christian Mission

Stephen Spencer is Director of Theology and Implementation in the Anglican Communion office in London, supporting theological education, mission and discipleship in Anglican Churches around the world. He is also an Honorary Fellow in the department of Theology and Religion, Durham University. He has published books with SCM Press, including Archbishop William Temple: A Study of Servant Leadership (2022) and SCM Studyguides on Anglicanism, Christian Mission and Church History.

This is an excellent introduction to the broad types of mission found in the Church today. Spencer’s already respected textbook has been revised, updated and expanded to reflect contemporary developments in mission. This book is both essential for any introductory course about mission, as well as being invaluable to local churches who thoughtfully want to discern what mission looks like in their contexts today.
