’Till now we lacked scientific research concerning training needs in the logistics and freight sector. This book fills a gap. It clearly illustrates the importance of training in a sector where learning by doing remains a significant tool for skills development.’ Professor Eddy Van de Voorde, University of Antwerp (ITMMA), Belgium ’This book addresses issues found in all the countries that I know; there are shortages of trained people in logistics and transport management. It will be valuable to anyone facing the assessment of the needs for, the development of or the evaluation of training programmes in logistics and transport. Most of the subject matter is relevant to any country, only little is related specifically to Italy - and that shows the commonality of conditions among countries.’ Trevor Heaver, Professor Emeritus, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada '...of greatest relevance to those investigating the industry in Italy. It will be a useful addition to the Institute's library.' Logistics and Transport Focus '...the book does a lot more than summarizing the research conducted...this book is original as well as fundamental for building the complex instruments training programmes, since they absorb a large amount of resources but can fall short of attaining the desired outputs if any of the steps presented in the book is neglected or skipped.'
