Trade Preferences Outlook 2024

Since the 1970's, non-reciprocal trade preferences have sought to support developing countries' export growth and diversification, but their effect may soon fade away with major changes in the dynamics of international trade. Is the case for trade preferences still valid today? Should we conceive any alternative approaches? The first issue of the Trade Preference Outlook reviews past achievements, takes stock of the current state of play and discusses the future of trade preferences, to stimulate policy discussion.
