"When Jamie Rowan was almost nine years old, he had an imaginary friend..." So begins a tale of discovery and wonder. Jamie, a lonely child of privilege, finds solace in a world of imagination and creativity, a world far more interesting than his own austere upbringing. Expected to grow up early and abruptly, Jamie becomes a young man of means and accomplishment, with little time for play. Until he realizes that his world is not exactly what he thought, and that the realm of imagination - not all of which is benign - has some very significant implications for the "real" world. Taking place in a time much like our own past, Maxxe Albert-Deitch's story explores the importance of creativity and responsibility, with action, romance, mystery and deceit taking place amongst wonders of food, galas, love, loss and the realization that some imaginings may be powerful enough to change everything.
