The grand kingdom of Empleheim flourished-until the day it disappeared, leaving its people behind. Thrust beyond time itself, the nation is now home to only one man, the mage Achron, whose experiment went terribly wrong.

Seeking to restore his homeland, Achron incidentally rescues a young woman named Keena, who claims she can help him if they recover the golden tome stolen from her. Empleheim's ancient mysteries conflate with questions about his new companion as he discovers that they now share a strange bond that defies both time and space. Time has left him alone, but Keena cannot.

What can they do to bring Empleheim back to life? Separated from what they have loved and known, Achron and Keena find their chance meeting to be the promise of an answer.
