  • Kei Miller's specific contributions to Caribbean literature have awarded him the Prix Les Afriques for the French translation of his third novel, Augustown, the Anthony N Sabga Caribbean Award for Excellence in Arts and Letters, the Prix Carbet de la Caraïbe et du Tout-Monde, the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, and the Silver Musgrave Medal from the Institute of Jamaica. He was shortlisted for the international Dylan Thomas prize.
  • Miller's books have also been shortlisted for the Costa Poetry Award, the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book, the Phillis Wheatley Book Award in Fiction, and the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize.
  • His collection The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion won the Forward poetry prize. He was named one of 20 "Next Generation Poets" by the Poetry Book Society, and was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in its "40 under 40" initiative in 2018.
  • There was a six way auction for this book in the UK which was won by Canongate.
