Jerrold R. Brandell is Distinguished Professor, Wayne State University School of Social Work, and an instructor at the Michigan Council for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. A practicing psychotherapist-psychoanalyst, he is the founding editor-in-chief of Psychoanalytic Social Work. His scholarly interests include theoretical and clinical psychoanalysis, the portrayal of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in the cinema, psychotherapeutic process, psychodynamic supervision, and therapeutic storytelling with children. He has published numerous journal articles and book chapters, and fourteen books, including Psychodynamic Social Work, Essentials of Clinical Social Work, and Of Mice and Metaphors: Therapeutic Storytelling with Children.
