Theory and Praxis in the Pre-Modern Architecture

The book covers one of the most dynamic periods in the course of European and American structural art, during which the foundations of modern architectural theory were developed, new structures were discovered, the centres of Europe’s great cities were extensively remodelled and new ones were created. At the same time, the new social and economic conditions following the industrial revolution and new technologies were followed by a heavy reflection on art and gradually appeared, together with many new types of buildings, new rhythms, which, at the beginning of the 20th century, resulted in completely new forms. Knowledge of the facts of this period, both in the general theoretical reflection and in the field of application, is an essential tool for understanding the evolution of architecture, which will lead to the emergence of modern creation.
