Noriko Manabe is Professor of Music Theory and Affiliated Faculty in Folklore & Ethnomusicology and in East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University. Her research interests include music and social movements and popular music in Japan and the US. She is the author of The Revolution Will Not Be Televised: Protest Music after Fukushima and editor of the book series, 33-1/3 Japan.Eric Drott is Professor of Music Theory at the University of Texas at Austin. He is author of Music and the Elusive Revolution: Political Culture and Cultural Politics in France, 1968-1981 (University of California Press, 2011) and Streaming Music, Streaming Capital (Duke University Press, 2024). In 2020, he received the Dent Medal from the Royal Musical Association.
