Beskrivning
The Genetic Blueprint of Diabetes: Unlocking Pathways to Cure is a comprehensive, advanced resource targeting biomedical researchers, clinicians, and graduate students focused on the genetic and molecular basis of diabetes. It covers foundational genetics, epigenetics, gene-environment interactions, mitochondrial biology, and the gut microbiome, alongside translational topics like pharmacogenomics, gene therapy, and regenerative medicine. The book bridges basic science with clinical applications, emphasizing personalized and precision medicine approaches for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. It also addresses ethical, societal, and diversity considerations in genetic interventions. Suitable for researchers, endocrinologists, pharmacologists, public health professionals, and advanced students, it fills a gap by integrating cutting-edge genomic research with therapeutic strategies and policy implications. The text’s disease-specific focus, comprehensive scope, translational orientation, and inclusion of future therapies distinguish it from general genetics or fragmented online resources, making it an essential guide for advancing diabetes diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

  • Integrates genetics, epigenetics, environment, immunology, and emerging therapies in resource focused specifically on diabetes
  • Addresses ethical, policy, and equity issues related to genetic interventions
  • Applies practical applications of cutting-edge technologies to patient care

Meenakshi Dhanawat is Associate Professor at the Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Haryana, India. Her research spans medicinal chemistry, synthetic and heterocyclic chemistry, nanotechnology, drug delivery systems, prodrug design, complexation, polymer chemistry, and herbal drug extraction, with a particular focus on central nervous system drug delivery. She is a recipient of the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship.Dilip Sharma is a pharmacologist whose research spans neuroscience, molecular biology, and translational medicine. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Amity Institute of Pharmacy, India. Prior to this, he completed postdoctoral training in Anesthesiology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he developed rodent models of diabetic and chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain. His earlier work investigated Rho-kinase-inhibitory GLP-1 secretagogues for diabetic nephropathy. He serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several journals.
