Professor Carlos Bergmann holds a master's degree in Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (PPGE3M) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1982) in Brazil and a PhD in Engineering from the Rheinisch Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (1989), in Germany. He is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and leads the Ceramic Materials Laboratory at the School of Engineering of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
