Mer information
Ronald has degrees in Ancient History, and Theology; as well as a Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies. He is a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Battlestar Galactica, and Fringe; as well as a reader of Heroic Fantasy from the likes of David Gemmell, David Eddings, and Raymond E. Feist; and Sci-Fi like Scott Westerfeld and Eric Van Lustbader's Pearl Saga.He has been a Guest Lecturer in Trinity College, Dublin; and has taught Creative Writing to unwilling adults (!). Ronald lives with his wife, two daughters, and his Shichon, Monty, in Ireland, and has been writing since the universe began. In Kiranis, Ronald builds a universe and populates it with characters - human and alien - of familiar proclivities and relatable ambitions. Of both darkness and light he writes, blurring the gray areas of morality amidst an unfolding chaos of universal proportions. The Kiranis series is big and bold, with underlying philosophies and dark insights intricately woven into an epic Space Opera. Merging Science Fiction tropes with Fantasy staples (and with a dash of theology and philosophy), Ronald weaves an epic story that redefines and reinvigorates both genres.

REVIEW FOR THE KIRANIS BOOKS SO FAR:"...The fourth volume in Ronald A. Geobey's magnum space opus, Tears of the Dragon continues along the path established by the previous three volumes: multiple plotlines intertwined with many characters, all heading for various unknown outcomes. This is SERIOUSLY complex stuff, on the level with the most multi-faceted material Kim Stanley Robinson or Frank Herbert ever wrote. One thing is certain: the world-building and layering of plot threads is staggering, I don't think I've ever seen it done on this scale before. Regardless of whether you love or hate this series, it's a monumental achievement that is almost impossible to ignore. Recommended for fans of the series. For new readers who want to give it a shot, make sure to start with the first book, you CANNOT read this series out of order." - Monster Librarian"...far-reaching galactic odyssey...staggering in scope...I've never read a series with a scope as large as this one." - Menion, Goodreads"There are fantasy elements that will delight hybrid-loving readers, including the god-like Naveen, portals, and the mother of all fantasy creatures, dragons...cat and mouse chases that transcend time and galaxies...there is no stopping the bullet train excitement of Kiranis..." - Asher Syed, RF Review"...an increasingly intricate plot, where alliances are not quite what they seem, and each character wears more than one mask. The fusion of science fiction and fantasy continues...although the action is never missing, the characters and their motivations take center stage." - Ishmael A. Soledad, Author of the Descent SeriesAbsolutely Mind-Blowing! ...a very swift connection with the central character...the captain of the 'Icarus', a ship with a specific purpose...There's a meticulous framing of language and events, and Geobey keeps us looking the other way until he wants us to see what he has in store. - Barnes & Noble"...one of the most unique sci-fi sagas ever written...the scale of the story has widened further into the galaxy...there really isn't anything out there like this, and the journey's barely begun...do yourself a favor and take a chance on the series: epics like this are rare and deserve a look." - Monster Librarian"...a huge revenge plot...kicks your expectations out the window...[t]he outcome is as heartbreaking as it is astonishing, and Geobey's penchant for interrelated plot lines keeps things tight and demands that you pay attention to otherwise throwaway details. No wasted exposition or dialogue, everything meaningful and subliminal....[f]rom emotionally charged death scenes to spectacular outer space action..." - Goodreads Review"Gods of Kiranis isn't just a sci-fi novel. It's an achievement, and a very notable one. The book has an unbelievably dense and complex plot, on the level of the Game of Thrones novels, and it's impressive with the scope and imagination of the science fiction elements used. Most importantly, it provides entertainment and leaves you wanting more. Readers looking for a truly unique novel in terms of universe building and scope won't want to miss this one." - Monster Librarian"...explanations are [sharp]...characters are [...] alive...the pace is [...] fast...and the rationale behind the connecting plots [is] structured. Strong characters both male and female - refreshingly strong female characters, actually. All in all, highly recommended." - Goodreads Review"The premise is new, the setting intricate, with the action and twists in the plot continuous, unexpected, and engaging. Elements of science fiction and fantasy that you may think you are familiar with are given new nuance, with a host of characters and species that will leave you wanting more." - Ishmael A. Soledad, Author of Diathesis"The pace is fast...packed with action...merges fantasy with science fiction in an intricate plot...[t]he background building is intense, the plot is complex, and the characters are realistic...a series to keep an eye on." - Readers' Favorite
