Beskrivning
Teaching Writing in the Middle and Upper Primary Years is a practical guide to writing instruction that supports teachers through a stage when students become increasingly fluent writers. Teaching writing effectively requires strong content knowledge and an ability to respond to students' learning needs and interests. In the middle and upper primary years, teaching writing becomes increasingly complex as students develop the capacity to write with confidence and fluency and to compose texts of growing sophistication. This book begins with a focus on key theories, models and strategies for teaching writing, before exploring the foundations of writing in the early years. Further topics include writing across the curriculum learning areas, linguistic and cultural diversity, digital technologies, assessment, and ways to support students with specific writing difficulties and differences. Authored by leading experts in literacy education, this research-informed resource is an invaluable guide for pre-service and in-service primary teachers.
