Gabriel Diaz Maggioli’s latest book not only offers a coherent framework for teacher education, adaptable to a range of contexts (including online teacher training) but fleshes it out with hands-on, practical procedures, exemplified from the author’s own extensive practice in the field. Moreover, by firmly situating teacher education within a sociocultural paradigm and making a convincing case for a ‘participate and learn’ methodology, Diaz Maggioli has helped align the discourse of language teacher education with current educational theory in general.
