Adopting health and well-being to explore how higher education is advancing the sustainable development agenda brings a range of global exemplars to the fore. One of these is the JPB Fellowship program that supports junior faculty across the US to tackle inequity through environmental health research and its application in practice and policy. There is a lot to learn from this work that could be amplified by other higher education systems across the world so that no one gets left behind.
