Taxes Are a Woman's Issue

This book describes the US as a welfare nation for all tax payers - whether rich, poor, a corporation, or an individual. But at the same time, the tax structure penalises over half its tax payers. The authors dispel myths about the current tax system and call for its reform. Created long before women entered the work force, the system today reflects fundamental inequalities of gender, race and class. With women now over 50 per cent of all tax payers, the US needs a tax system that supports women's work and lives. This book addresses the largely neglected impact of tax and spending policies on all women.
