Stephanie Gibeault is an award-winning author of picture books and middle grade nonfiction. After earning her Master of Science in animal behavior and working as a biologist, Stephanie became a certified professional dog trainer teaching countless clients to talk to their dogs. She is also a freelance writer who has contributed hundreds of articles on dogs to magazines and the internet. Stephanie wants to inspire kids to have safer and more respectful interactions with dogs by appreciating how they communicate their thoughts and feelings. She lives just outside of Toronto, Canada. Writing was never her strong suit, so she has always turned to drawing to tell stories and connect with others. Her work is often characterized as emotive, dynamic, and vibrant, with some humorous undertones.Madi often works digitally but can also be found painting with gouache and drawing with ink, markers, and colored pencils. She is driven by curiosity, her love of learning, and her wish to always nurture her childlike wonder.Madi can often be found watching cartoons, travelling, crafting, or ogling at photos of her odd rescue dog, Lila. Some of her favorite things to draw are silly little animals, fun florals, and sweet character interactions.
