Beskrivning
Discover the myths and legends of Suffolk as they are brought vividly to life in this highly original collection of historical tales by Paul Schwer.Set in the mid-7th century, during the reign of the Kings of East Anglia and the era of Sutton Hoo, these ten stories reimagine centuries of local folklore, fables and legends against the backdrop of a kingdom undergoing the transition from paganism to Christianity.Through the eyes of two fictional monks, Brother Theodosius and his troubled young companion Brother Leofa, familiar tales are transported to the magical landscape of the South Folk, where ancient beliefs, extraordinary encounters and tumultuous events intertwine. Inspired by the author's experience as a storyteller at Sutton Hoo, this collection offers a fresh perspective on Suffolk's rich storytelling heritage.
