From the reviews: Praise for Helmut Wiedemann's Synchrotron Radiation OPN "This well organized book makes the complicated field of synchrotron radiation easy to understand. Each chapter includes a set of exercises; also the formulas and constants are compiled in appendices. This book could be used both as a textbook and as a reference." "A key strength of this book is that subsequent to introducing the fundamentals, important physical processes that are implemented in technologies at synchrotron facilities are also described ... . This book certainly capitalises on the need for an in-depth physics text in this field, because few books tend to specifically focus on synchrotron radiation. ... this book will be a valuable resource that serves as both a reference for synchrotron users and as a text for courses at the honours or graduate level." (Jamie Quinton, The Physicist, Vol. 40 (4), 2003) "Prof. Wiedemann brings his impressive expertise to this book through his confident and flowing writing style. The text is clear, understandable and pedagogical, and each chapter is almost complete in itself. ... The pace is gentle and the reader is gradually introduced to the fundamental process of radiation from moving particles and subsequently eased into the basics of the generation and properties of synchrotron radiation ... . I can say that I really did enjoy the experience of reading this book ... ." (Dr. J. T. Costello, Contemporary Physics, Vol. 44 (6), 2003)
