The current turbulent business environment is one in which the elements of CAVU - Complexity, Ambiguity, Vulnerability and Uncertainty - reign. One aspect of this reality is that competition is global, intense and unrelenting. Leading performance today in no way guarantees same into the future. A good dose of humility, even paranoia is clearly in order. This is Swagger-Free Zone. There are no birthrights. Nothing is guaranteed, going forward.

The imperative to sustain profitable growth, under which senior executives at business enterprises of all sizes and in all locations must operate, demands that they lead with dual strategies - conquering the present and claiming the future. Professionals as well as middle and lower level managers at these companies are certainly not exempt from the pressures and challenges posed by the turbulent CAVU business environment and would derive tremendous benefits from the book.

This is a reference manual for dealing with the pervasive turbulence with confidence and effectiveness. In the first two parts of the three-part book, the author starts off with a framework and then goes on to address the key requirements for conquering the present. He concludes with a third part where the focus is on continuous organizational renewal, which serves as the foundation upon which to build for claiming the future.
