Vesa Suutari is Professor at the University of Vaasa and has studied and taught international HRM-topics such as global leadership, global mobility and global careers for 30 years. He has published over 100 international refereed journal articles and book chapters on related topics. His academic expert roles have included positions such as Associate Editor of International Journal of HRM and editorial roles in many other journals as well as board memberships of the European Academy of Management (EURAM) and HENRY ry – Association of Finnish HR-professionals. He has also previously acted as Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies and the Vice Rector (research) of the University of Vaasa. Vesa is one of the permanent organizers of EIASM Workshop on Expatriation and EURAM track on Global Mobility, and has also acted as one of the quest editors for around ten special issues on global mobility and careers in journals and for several books (Work-life Interface in International Career Context, Springer, 2015; Management of Global Careers, Palgrave, 2018; Self-Initiated Expatriates, Routledge, 2021). Michael Dickmann is Professor of International Human Resource Management at Cranfield University, UK and an International Professor at the University of Vaasa, Finland. He is the Director of the Cranfield Master’s in Management which is ranked amongst the world’s top management programmes. His research focuses on human resource strategies, structures and processes of multinational organisations, cross-cultural management, international mobility and global careers. Several of Michael’s research projects were financed by and executed with PwC while others were supported by organisations such as the United Nations, the Government of Singapore, the London Development Agency, Expatica or People in Aid. The strategic and operational impact of Michael’s work in the practice of management is substantial. Michael has published in journals such as Human Resource Management, Journal of World Business, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Organizational Dynamics, Human Resource Management Journal or the British Journal of Management. He is the lead author or editor of several books on international HRM and global careers. Globally, he is one of the most cited authors in international HRM. Since 2017 he is the Senior Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Human Resource Management.Shaofang Zong is a doctoral researcher at the University of Vaasa, and her research focuses on sustainable global careers. Before entering academia, Shaofang acquired over 15 years of experience in senior management roles with multinational companies, and she has lived and worked in three different countries: China, USA and Finland. Such experiences have endowed her with valuable insights into global careers in practice.Dr. Rodrigo Mello is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Vaasa, specializing in international career research. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Review, International Business Review, and Gender, Work & Organization. He has also contributed to projects such as the European University for Customized Education (EUNICE) and the UN’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). His research is deeply informed by both academic and practical insights, drawing from his experience in multinational corporations like Anheuser-Busch InBev and Lanxess, as well as his international background of working and living in four countries. Passionate about global mobility and career sustainability, his work explores how international experiences shape individuals' careers.
