Stroke Rehabilitation

This volume is written for those health care professionals without specialist training in caring for stroke survivors, but who none the less are involved in caring for them and working with them towards their rehabilitation. The book provides clinical reasoning and objective guidance to enable health professionals to develop personal problem-solving skills and strategies. Normal movement, neuromuscular plasticity, cognitive direction of motor behaviour, complexities of continence and aquisition of language are all examined. The author also examines recent advances in our understanding of the central nervous system and the consequences of aquired trauma.
