Yang Chungui, born in January 1936 in Fuxin, Liaoning, was the former vice president, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee. He used to be a member of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of the Chinese Society for Dialectical Materialism, and chief expert of the Marxist Philosophy Research Group of the Central Marxist Theoretical Research and Construction Project. His main research fields include Marxist philosophy, Mao Zedong's philosophical thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. He has written Studies on the Party's Ideological Line, Yang Chungui's Selected Works, On the Methods of Thought, Theory of Party School Teaching, Yang Chungui's Lectures, I and Marxist Philosophy, etc., and edited New Theory of Mao Zedong's Philosophy, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Historical Destiny of Socialism, a Course in the History of the Development of Marxist Philosophy, Selected Lectures on the Original Works of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and Methodology of Marxism and Social Science, etc.
