An annual juried publication, ""Stone Canoe"" takes its name from the ancient story of the Peacemaker, who brought the message of peace to the warring tribes of the Finger Lakes and founded the Haudenosaunee Confederacy on the shores of Syracuse's Onondaga Lake.
