Status of Technology for Volume Reduction and Treatment of Low and Intermediate Level Solid Radioactive Waste

This report describes all existing methods of treatment of solid, low and intermediate level radioactive waste: mechanical, thermal, melting, chemical, biological and photochemical processes; both established proven technologies and advanced methods. It further discusses the treatment of generated liquid, solid and gaseous secondary waste. Comprehensive references on the subject are also given.
