A real strength to be acknowledged is the multinational, multiregional focus of the book. Too few collections on contemporary neoliberalism and resistance, even recent ones, provide venues for comparative analysis along the lines of struggle (crisis by capital/crisis for capital). Chapters in States of Discipline examine transformations in the United States, specific regions of the European Union, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Cambodia, and China, as well as international contexts ofglobal flow and migration.
