Standing Under the Cross focuses on Bonhoeffers rich theological and ethical thinking. It places Bonhoeffer in conversation with a wide range of modern theologians, including Karl Barth, Franz Rosenzweig, Jrgen Moltmann, and James Cone. The book gives particular attention to hermeneutics, the body, and Bonhoeffers rich reflections on community and discipleship. Mawson attends to the complex ways in which these aspects of Bonhoeffers thinking work together, and shows how they can assist us in responding to some of the challenges confronting us today.
