Unhappily married Alan has a one-night stand with a woman he meets in a seedy bar. When he returns home, he finds that his wife has been murdered and that he is the primary suspect...Eleven months had passed since he last sat down on the court bench, testifying before a jury. Nobody believed him. The evidence was so compelling there was really no way of changing people's minds. They slaughtered him the moment he took the stand; his eyes wavered back and forth, staring into each of the juror's eyes. They seemed so distant, so different; he knew their minds had already been made. He gave his testimony and watched as the DA tore him apart. His only alibi seemed like a lie. He didn't have her name, and everyone who saw them together suddenly fell under a spell of amnesia.
