Rory Cox is an award-winning Professor of History at the University of St Andrews. He completed his doctorate at Oxford and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has appeared on podcasts and radio and is a regular speaker at Chalke History festival. Throughout his career, Rory has traced the big ideas fundamental in shaping humanity’s past, from the earliest civilizations to the present day. The inspiration for SOLAR came while he was a Research Fellow at Caltech in California, where he experienced a remarkable “close encounter” with the Sun at the Mount Wilson Observatory.
